Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh is an experienced expert in economics and policy development. He obtained his Master Degree in International Trade and Finance in Lancaster University (UK) and later a PhD degree in Economics in Lancaster University. After completing the PhD, he spent two years in UK for his post-doctoral research fellowship. Thanks to his extensive trainings in the UK, he acquired excellent quantitative and qualitative research skills.
He has over 20 years of experience working in Vietnam and internationally. From 1995 – 2006, Dr. Anh worked as for Ministry of Trade (Ministry of Industry and Trade) and National Council for Science and Technology Policy as a senior researcher. Since 2005 Dr. Ngoc Anh has been the co-founder and chief economist of Development and Policies Research Center and has led it become a reputable organization among the development and policy researches and consultancy community. Since 2008, he has provided researches and advice as an economic advisor for the Economic Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam. He has also worked with the Central government, local government, NGOs and CSOs. His years of experience working in the field of development and policy for both governmental and international organizations have given him a well-built position among researcher community.
Ngoc Anh has led successfully many large surveys in the fields of socio-economic issues, including macroeconomic policies, business and investment environment, trade liberalization, public policy analysis, legislative development, impact evaluation and econometric modeling for international donors and ministries. His years working as leaders and advisers for evaluation assignments in many development fields, particularly agriculture and rural development, public services, including education, energy, water supply and sanitation, and public health has contributed to his strong qualifications.
Dr. Ngoc Anh is the author of many reports, book chapter, and research articles on public policy, legal issues, particularly in trade liberalization and macro-economic policy, and many of them have been published on renowned local and international journals.
